Der Grand Canyon

Wir mussten lange planen, um zu entscheiden, wo wir den Sonnenuntergang am Grand Canyon sehen sollten.

Wir hatten nur eine Chance, es zu sehen.

Unser Hotel war 1 1/2 Stunden vom Grand Canyon entfernt und wir wussten, dass wir am nächsten Tag nicht früh genug aufwachen würden, um die lange Rückfahrt zum Sonnenaufgang zu machen.

Es war jetzt oder nie.

Nach langen Diskussionen haben wir uns schließlich für Mojave Point am Südgrat entschieden. Sie müssen einen Bus zum Mojave-Punkt nehmen, dort sind keine öffentlichen Fahrzeuge erlaubt.

Hopi-Aussichtspunkt ist vielleicht der am meisten empfohlene von Park Rangern, aber es ist sehr beschäftigt. Wir haben uns für Mojave entschieden, weil es nicht nur einen unverbauten Blick auf den Canyon, sondern auch auf den Colorado River und den Hopi Point selbst bietet.

Wir waren mit unserem Aussichtspunkt für den Sonnenuntergang über der Schlucht zufrieden und würden es wieder tun.

Die dramatischen Wolken eines drohenden Sturms sorgten für beeindruckende Farben am Himmel.

Wir befürchteten, dass die Sonne einfach ein Stück Licht am Himmel sein würde, aber genau zur magischen Stunde enttäuschte sie nicht und strahlte durch die enge Öffnung zwischen den Wolken und dem Canyon.

Es war spektakulär und erlaubte uns, eine der schönsten Szenen der Welt zu erleben. Sonnenuntergang über dem Grand Canyon.
